Boyd Coddington The American Hot Rod Is Dead

The famous hot tod builder Boyd Coddington died at 6:20 AM on Wednesday. He was 63 years old and was admitted to hospital twice recently for an undisclosed medical condition. There are no details about the cause of death.

Boyd Coddington was born on 1944 in Rupert, Idaho. Boyd was building cars when he was 13 years old. As years passed he came up with many show-stoppers, including Cadzilla - a customized 1950s, Cadillac that was built for Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top fame. Cadzilla is still considered a masterpiece of automotive art.

Boyd Coddington has won the Daimler-Chrysler Design Excellence Award twice. He has achieved international fame from his reality show ‘"American Hot Rod" which was telecasted on the Discovery Channel and which has been great inspiration for younger generations, as it introduced the automobile world to everyone. The automotive world has been made a better place because of Boyd Coddington.
